Join the Hyde Park Fall Festival, October 18th from 3-7pm

Join Friends of Shipe Park from 3 to 7 pm Sunday, Oct. 18th, for the Hyde Park Fall Festival where neighbors of all ages will usher in a new season with fun, games, free picnic supper, music and pumpkin carving!

Food, drinks and some picnic tables will be provided at no charge — but feel free to bring your own lawn chairs and a picnic blanket.

The festival kicks off at 3 pm with a favorite neighborhood event — the 4th Annual Friends of Shipe Park Basketball Challenge generously sponsored by Hyde Park neighbors Joejames and Cecelia Camarillo.

Music will be courtesy of DJ Juls, their son Juls Camarillo. Cash prizes are awarded to children and adults who can realize their best “hoop dreams” in a basketball skills competition organized by age brackets.

A picnic supper will be offered between 5 and 6 pm with pumpkin carving to follow. The Hot Dog King will provide premium hotdogs and sausages — and other vendors will be donating popular picnic foods. Quack’s 43rd Street Bakery is generously providing sweet treats. Fairweather Cider is donating several cases of cider.

Fall Festival coordinator John Woldum said Friends of Shipe Park wants to extend special thanks to this fall event’s primary sponsor, CG&S Design-Build. The firm is providing supplies to decorate the small pumpkins generously donated by Sam Lash, owner of Farm to Table produce distributors.

“Join your neighbors for this year’s Fall Festival,” said Woldrum. “Treat yourself and your family to another special day in Shipe Park!
